Schedule for follow-up testing of children with Elevated Blood Lead Levels (BLL)

screening test (finger-stick* or venous) is: |

| 20-44 µg/dL |

| 45-59 µg/dL |

| 60-69 µg/dL |

| ≥70 µg/dL |
Immediately as an emergency lab test |
ALL Blood Lead Levels pertaining to lead cases, including low levels need
to be reported to your local Health Department Childhood Lead
Poisoning Prevention Program by mail, fax, or phone.
(*Only-screening tests may be finger-stick; all BLL’s of
10 µg/dL or higher must be followed with venous testing).
(**The higher the screening BLL, the more urgent
the need for a follow-up test.)
