Stanislaus County Health Services Agency officials will be in Ceres at
10:30 a.m. today to break ground for the new Ceres Medical Office. Workers
have already started the grading for the project at 3901 Whitmore Avenue
to the east of Carl's Jr. restaurant.
The 10,000 square foot office will feature three doctors and four nurse
practitioners to keep up with the medical demands of Ceres residents.
The office will replace cramped quarters located on Memorial Drive, across
the street from the closed Memorial Hospital Ceres. Numerous additional
services to be provided at the site include health education and training,
the Keep Baby Safe program, Lamaze training, immunization services, school
and athlitic physicals, diabetes education, nutrition classes and a behavioral
clinic for patients 21 and older to be operated by the Department of Mental
Health. American Medical Response will also have a base of ambulance operations
at the site.
