Modesto Bee Letter to Editor

November 6, 2000

The photo and caption that highlighted the etiquette training held at the King-Kennedy Center in the September 26 edition of The Modesto Bee illustrates the good things that are occurring in the community.

The etiquette class put on by the Women's Auxiliary was one in a series of training sessions have provided expanded life option skills to 15 to 25 teens from the community over the last seven months.

The Sept. 23 etiquette session allowed young women to learn "social graces," including dating (formal and informal), entertaining guests, planning and preparing a meal, setting a formal table and dining etiquette. The culmination of the session ended with each participant receiving a four-place china and silverware set complete with napkins. This entire event was made possible by the generous contribution from Kraft Foods, through a grant awarded the Women's Auxiliary.
