A workshop on communication techniques between mothers and daughters regarding sensitive topics will be presented by the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency.

Called Heart to Heart, it will be open to girls ages 13 to 17 and their mother or adult guardian.

The one-session workshop will be presented twice -- from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the McHenry Medical Office, 2501 McHenry Ave., Modesto, and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the King Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 N. Martin Luther King Drive, Modesto.

There is no charge for the workshop, which will include dinner.

Topics will include communication techniques, encouraging abstinence, sexually transmitted diseases and birth control.
