Health workers will provide about 70,000 shots for Stanislaus County
children this year through the Immunization Assistance Program. The Board
of Supervisors this week accepted $180,676 from the state to continue
the effort through 2002. The program provides free immunizations for children
whose families are within income limits. The staff also monitors school
immunization records, educates parents about needed shots and assists
families dealing with hepatitis B during pregnancy. For information, call
558-4818.
