Three new human cases of West Nile Virus were announced Thursday by Stanislaus
County Health Services Agency.
The cases include a 65-year-old man with West Nile neuroinvasive disease,
a 69-year-oldman with West Nile fever, and a 52-year-old woman who was
not hospitalized. The latest cases bring the number of people in Stanislaus
County confirimed infected by WNV up to 30.
The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District is testing trapped mosquitos
around a 15-mile radius to see if there is in fact an infestation of West
Nile. If more mosquitos are found to have the virus, aggressive spraying
will begin.
