Three new human cases of West Nile Virus were announced Thursday by Stanislaus County Health Services Agency.

The cases include a 65-year old man with West Nile neuroinvasive disease, a 69-year old man with West Nile fever, and a 52-year old woman who was not hospitalized. The latest cases bring the number of people in Stanislaus County confirmed infected by WNV up to 30.

The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District is testing trapped mosquitoes around a 150 mile radius to see if there is in fact an infestation of West Nile. If more mosquitoes are found to have the virus, aggressive spraying will begin.
