- To date in 2005, there have been 859 human West Nile virus infections
from 40 counties in California.
- Of the 806 West Nile virus cases with symptoms, 267 are classified
as West Nile neuroinvasive disease, 467 are classified as West Nile
fever cases, and 72 are of unknown clinical presentation.
- There have been 18 West Nile virus-related fatalities in California
this year from Amador, Butte, Fresno, Kings, Madera, Riverside, Sacramento,
San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tulare counties.

- Riverside 87
- Stanislaus 85
- Kern 59
- Fresno 58
