Certain health clinics at the former Stanislaus County hospital on Scenic Drive in Modesto would remain open under a plan for reducing Health Services Agency deficits.

Instead, the county would close the Medical Arts Building at 17th and G streets. The staff recommendation was released Friday and goes to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday evening.

The county has health clinics at four locations in Modesto and medical offices in Ceres, Turlock and Hughson.

But faced with an $8.7 million Health Services Agency deficit this year, the county board decided in October to eliminate one clinic site and reduce the number of patients served.
