Accounting errors, overstated revenues and a changing patient
mix caused a $4.9 million operating deficit in the Stanislaus
County Health Services Agency budget in the fiscal year
that ends this week, agency managing director Mary Ann Lee
said Tuesday.
The shortfall is on top of the $6.25 million the county
planned to subsidize the Health Services Agency this year.
The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday
to cover that deficit with money from the HSA strategic
plan contingency fund, the HSA Public Health Fund balance
and tobacco settlement money.
