| The
Stanislaus County Health Services Agency Foundation recently awarded five
scholarships to local high school students who were recognized for superior
academic achievement as well as contribution to their community.
The winner of the $1000 Teddie Hartman Scholarship was Kia Lee, a graduating
senior from Downey High School. Kia not only has outstanding scholastic
achievement, but also volunteers in her school, her church and in the
community. She was recently featured on KCRA news as an outstanding community
volunteer.
The four winners of the HSA High School Scholarships were Christopher
Chaffee from Modesto High School; Zachary Pacheco and James Pinto from
Oakdale High School; and Neha Shah from Downey High School. Each recipient
receives a $1000 tuition stipend to be applied toward their college education.
Scholarships for graduating high school students are awarded annually
by the Foundation.
