If
you are interested in getting some tips on parenting skills, you are encouraged
to register for a new parenting class starting in February. Classes will
be held in Spanish and will cover: positive discipline; parenting skills;
talking with your kids about difficult issues such as sexuality, HIV/AIDS,
domestic violence and date rape.
The classes are free of charge and will be held in Patterson High School
Cafeteria starting February 1 and will continue each Tuesday evening from
5:30 – 8:30 p.m. during the month of February. The program includes
free educational materials, dinner, and childcare for children over four
years of age. Free prize drawings will also be held for participants.
Classes are made possible through a collaboration between the Stanislaus
County Health Services Agency R.E.A.L. and HIV/AIDS Program, the Patterson
Unified School District Smart Moves Program , the Haven Women's Center,
and Modesto Junior College Kincare Program.
Registration deadline is Monday, January 24. You may register by calling
