COUNTY – The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA)
has announced that Gene La Monica, M.D. has accepted the position of Medical
Director for the HSA Urgent Care Center located at 830 Scenic Drive. He
will be starting in his capacity on April 17.
Dr. La Monica will be responsible for medical oversight of the center
and will also provide direct patient care. He has a background in urgent
care medicine and is a board certified family practice physician. Dr.
La Monica received his medical training at Tufts University School of
Medicine in Boston, MA. He completed a pathology residency at the UCLA
Medical Center and a surgical residency at the University of Colorado
Health Science Center.
The Urgent Care Center treats over 20,000 patients each year for work
injuries, sports injuries, colds and flu, broken bones and other minor
medical emergencies.
The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) is an outpatient medical
system with 9 medical offices located throughout Stanislaus County. The
HSA operates the Public Health Department, an Urgent Care Center and multiple
programs serving over 400,000 patients and clients each year in Stanislaus
County. The HSA also is in local partnerships for the MOMobile project
