County – The Church of the Cross, Modesto Covenant Church and
the Stanislaus County chapter of Youth for Christ have established a partnership
to implement a faith-based sex curriculum for high school students in Stanislaus
County. The program has been funded by a grant from The Stanislaus County
Health Services Agency (HSA).
The five-part program will take place at Modesto Covenant Church (913
Floyd Road, Modesto) on successive Mondays starting October 1 from 6:30
p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Topics will include: Sex Talk - The invasion of sex into
youth culture; Sexual ID - Struggles with sexual preferences and emotion;
Intimacy - An integral part of sex; Desire & Boundaries - Knowing
when to say when; Responsibility & Do-overs - You don't have to be
a prisoner.
The program will include discussion, interactive learning and an anonymous
question and answer period each evening. Snacks and prize giveaways are
included and the sessions are free. Students receive a free workbook for
attending and are encouraged to attend all five sessions. Preregistration
is not required. Parents are invited to preview the curriculum in advance

The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) is an outpatient medical
system with 9 medical offices located throughout Stanislaus County. The
HSA operates the Public Health Department, an Urgent Care Center and multiple
programs serving over 475,000 patients and clients each year in Stanislaus
County. The HSA also is in local partnerships for the MOMobile project
