County – The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA)
is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Del Morris as its Medical
Director effective October 1, 2003. In this capacity, Dr. Morris will oversee
the quality of care provided in HSA clinics and represent the HSA in the
medical community.
Dr. Morris, a member of the Scenic Faculty Medical Group, has been serving
the medical needs of the residents of Stanislaus County since 1999. He
has been serving, and will continue in this role, as the Clinic Chief
for the HSA Family Practice Clinic. He is an Associate Clinical Professor
with the UC Davis School of Medicine.
Dr. Morris holds a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University;
his Doctor of Medicine degree is from the University of Colorado School
of Medicine. He has been Board Certified in Family Practice since 1977.
Prior to coming to Stanislaus County, Dr. Morris was the Residency Program
Director at the University of Southern California and for the Davenport
Medical Education Foundation of the St Luke’s Hospitals of Davenport,
IA. Dr. Morris was also in private practice in the state of Washington,
and has served as a Major in the United States Army for the Family Practice
Residency Program in Dewitt Army Hospital in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Dr. Gary Pickell, from the HSA Hughson Medical Office, served as the
previous Medical Director since 1998.
The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) is an outpatient medical
system with 9 medical offices located throughout Stanislaus County. The
HSA operates the Public Health Department, an Urgent Care Center and multiple
programs serving over 500,000 patients and clients each year in Stanislaus
