Stanislaus County
- The Stanislaus Family Practice Residency is holding their 17th annual
Run for Health on Saturday, April 10 at East
La Loma Park off La Loma Avenue in Modesto. The run celebrates National
Public Health Week and is sponsored by the Stanislaus County Health Services
Agency.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the run beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The race features five and ten kilometer distances and a one-mile fun
run. Walkers are welcome for the five kilometer and one mile distances.
Awards go to the top finishers and post-race raffle drawing will be held.
Registration is $12 in advance and $14 the day of the event. Children
twelve and under are $7 dollars. All proceeds from this fundraiser go
to support the Modesto chapter of Doctors Ought to Care (DOC), a non-profit
organization supporting health programs in Stanislaus County. DOC is dedicated
to health education in Stanislaus County, with emphasis on smoking cessation,
drug addiction, safety issues, and domestic violence.

All participants receive a free t-shirt and are eligible for a prize
drawing at the event.
The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) is an outpatient medical
system with 7 medical offices located throughout Stanislaus County. The
HSA operates the Public Health Department, an Urgent Care Center and multiple
programs serving over 500,000 patients and clients each year in Stanislaus
